Professional Eyebrow Tint Prep & Aftercare

Proper brow prep and aftercare play a crucial role in the overall outcome of the service.
The correct aftercare practices will help you achieve optimal, long-lasting results.

Brow Care Tips For Pre & Post Brow Code Treatments:

  • Avoid the temptation to over-touch or rub the brow area after treatment.

  • Avoid tweezing in between appointments to maintain a natural shape.

  • Avoid using makeup and facial cleansers around the brow area 24 hours post-treatment.

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, and the use of sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms, and swimming pools for 24 hours post-treatment.

  • Avoid using Retin-A and AHA around the brow area for at least three days on either side of the treatment.

  • Avoid using any self-tanning products on the face for around two to three days on either side of the treatment.

Hybrid Dye Aftercare:

  • Keep brows dry for 24 hours.

  • Avoid excess heat, swimming, saunas, and working out for 24 – 48 hours as these activities can cause brow dye to not set correctly resulting in patchiness or fading.

  • Do not apply Retin-A, AHA’s, Glycolic acids, citric acids or exfoliates around the Brow area for the first 72 hours (minimum). Use of these products may cause patchiness or fading.

  • Avoid oil-based products on or around the brows.

  • No self-tanning, professional tanning or spray-on makeup should be applied 48 hours before and/or post your initial treatment for best results.

  • Avoid perfumed products for at least 24 hours after your treatment.

  • Please note that oil-based makeup and makeup removers can cause the tint/dye to fade quickly.

  • Exposure to the Sun/UV lights for long periods can cause the tint/dye to fade quickly.

Please note: It is normal for some redness to appear with an eyebrow waxing
treatment, especially in people with sensitive skin; this redness will usually
subside within a couple of hours (the length of time depends on the sensitivity
of the individual's skin). If a reaction occurs please contact the salon
immediately or seek medical attention.

Waxing

To experience the best and longest-lasting results from your waxing treatment, preparing for it and
caring for your skin in the days following the treatment is essential. Below is our waxing guide to
ensure you have a smooth waxing experience

As many medications and supplements may be contraindicated for waxing, you must advise the
salon of any new medications and/or supplements since your previous treatment.

Before Your Treatment:

  • Exfoliate 48 hours before your waxing treatment to eliminate any dead skin and help to release any ingrown hairs

  • Make sure that the area/s to be waxed is clean

  • Avoid using products that chemically exfoliate or thin the skin on the area to be waxed for at least 48 hours (particularly the face), e.g. topical exfoliants/acids/retinol/etc.

  • Avoid sun exposure for 48 hours before your appointment

Waxing Aftercare:

  • Avoid tight clothing for 48 hours to allow your skin to breathe and heal.

  • Avoid exercise that causes excessive sweating for 24 hours after waxing

  • Avoid hot showers, saunas, or spas for the first 24 hours, as these can open hair follicles further, risking infections.

  • Use a low irritant or antibacterial body wash on the areas to prevent infection.

  • For 24 hours after waxing, avoid products with fragrances or ingredients that may irritate and clog the open hair follicles. This includes deodorant.

  • Avoid direct sun exposure for 48 hours, as the skin is sensitive and will likely burn more easily.

  • Avoid touching the freshly waxed area, which encourages irritation and infection.

  • If facial waxing has been done, do not use exfoliants/acids/retinol/AHAs on the face for 48 hours. The skin has been exfoliated during the waxing process, and the new skin revealed is much more sensitive and open to irritation or minor chemical burns.

  • Remember to moisturise well with products that have little to no irritants. Tea tree and lavender oils are antimicrobial and antibacterial, so products containing them will help prevent irritation.

  • E xfoliate three days after your appointment (NO SOONER). Since our skin naturally hardens and thickens over the waxed area, keeping that area gently exfoliated will help prevent infection and ingrown hairs.
